Speaking

With a background in recruitment and talent acquisition that spans over 20+ years, Lyndal is a recognised authority on this subject and is an engaging, informative Keynote Speaker.

Lyndal’s career path has included working in travel and tourism, aviation, ports, shipping and heavy equipment. Now, through her Career Consultancy business, Lyndal is passionate about helping clients navigate the increasingly complex environment of recruitment and talent acquisition.

As an incredibly shy, 19-year-old ‘country girl’, Lyndal won the Miss Canterbury title and went on to reach the finalists at Miss New Zealand. While she acknowledges that not everyone sees traditional beauty contests in a positive light, without a doubt this experience helped shape Lyndal into the confident, poised speaker she is now.

Courage, determination & mental resilience

Formerly a half ironman competitor, keen water skier and runner, Lyndal was devastated to experience two major knee injuries in short succession, which prematurely ended her running.

“When I was told I wouldn’t run again, I could feel myself leaning towards ‘victim’ mode – not a place I wanted to occupy,” says Lyndal.

Leveraging the unique lessons gained from her injuries and rehabilitation, in her speaking engagements Lyndal shares how she transitioned to optimism and seeing opportunity.

Through her powerful story, she demonstrates how, with courage, determination and mental resilience, anyone is capable of turning adversity into triumph – whether in their workplace, community, or within themselves.

In her signature warm and relatable speaking style, Lyndal empathetically combines her own personal struggle with perfectionism and life purpose.
